Atmospheric & Oceanic Sciences

Office: 1329 AOSS

Madison, Wisconsin

I earned a PhD in machine learning and remote sensing of precipitation in 2022 from the University of Waterloo as a finalist for the University's 2023 Governor General's Gold Medal, specializing in Arctic snowfall prediction, deep learning and model interpretability.

Prior to my PhD, I received my Master of Science focusing on remote sensing and statistical modelling of snowfall, and my Bachelor of Computer Science specializing in statistical modelling and 3D graphics.

I am an Associate Editor at the AMS Journal of Atmospheric and Oceanic Technology, a member of the AMS Committee on Artificial Intelligence Applications to Environmental Science, and member of the AGU Early Career Scientist Precipitation Technical Committee.

I previously worked as a research fellow at the Unviersity of Michigan on projects related to snowfall and unsupervised learning. I was then employed as a researcher at the NASA Goddard Space Flight Center (Code 612), working at the intersection of passive microwave remote sensing, surface emissivity, precipitation, and machine learning.
